Among the UHS Class of 2025 were 80 AP Scholars with Distinction, 16 AP Scholars with Honors, 46 AP Scholars,15 National Merit Finalists, 13 JTED Certifications, a Dorrance Scholarship recipient, a Flinn Foundation Finalist, a Presidential Scholar Semifinalist, and many scholarship recipients. But more importantly, the Class of 2025 had 202 Penguins that learned about the world, cared and advocated for themselves and others, and dreamed big together. Congratulations Penguins! Here's to the University High School Class of 2025!

Congratulations to our amazing College and Career Readiness coordinator Megan Palos, who led UHS to one of the highest completion rates for the AZ FAFSA Challenge again! Shoutout to students Melody, Santiago and Jesus who won iPads from Cox at the celebration!

Congratulations, to our seniors, Arielle K., Abbker M., Nanan D., Amira B., Ruth G., and Sophia A.,who will each receive a one time $5,000 scholarship from A Legacy of Excellence! A Legacy of Excellence College Scholarship in partnership with the Educational Enrichment Foundation and Tucson Unified School District, awards scholarships each year to African American seniors graduating from TUSD who demonstrate outstanding commitment to learning, community, and legacy. These students demonstrate a desire to further their education and build an empowering future. Congratulations Penguins!

UHS Math Club took home another state championship in April! Shoutout to our amazing team members — Royce Yao, Sanjida Saba, Nathan Pollack, Jerrick Zhang, Sebastian Jimenez Garcia, Tyler Shao, Warren Moore, and Vyan Kalb — for their incredible performance and dedication. Under the outstanding guidance of Coaches Thomas Gribble and Bradford Hill, this talented group showcased true teamwork and mathematical excellence. Go Penguins!

Congratulations to Bailey de Tierra and Ashley Jo for placing second and third place in the Western National Parks Association’s 2025 essay contest! The two were recognized for their essays “Leaders of Tomorrow” and “An Honorary Speaker for Mother Nature” at the Tucson Festival of Books.

The RUHS boys volleyball team won the TUSD Invitational. Way to go!
