Congratulations to the Rincon High School/University High School Chess Team for earning 2nd place at the state tournament this weekend! Huge appreciation to Coach Daniel Volkman for his dedication and leadership throughout the season.

A special shoutout to UHS senior Evan Yin, who captured the individual state championship—an incredible accomplishment after finishing 2nd last year! UHS teammates also excelled, with Jerrick Zhang (5th), Elise Yin (7th), and Ben Cloud (4th Place Alternate) all medaling.

Great job to Jayden Yao, Robert Visco, Elise Yin, Jerrick Zhang, and Evan Yin for representing UHS with pride.
